Body-fat ranges for men who train
What body fat % you are at based on how you look: from shredded to above average.
This is how body fat ranges look on men who lift. Two people at the same number do not look the same, so watch the waist and abs, not the face.
Ranges we use
- Under 10%: very lean, near stage shape. Hard to hold.
- 10–12%: lean. Abs show more easily. Going lower is slow.
- 13–16%: athletic. A gym look in good light. A lot of men feel good here.
- 17–19%: fit. Training shows, with less waist detail.
- 20–24%: average. Clothes fit, but the waist is usually the focus.
- 25–31%: above average. Slow beats a crash diet. Keep your strength.
- 32% or more: high. A gentle plan wins.
BodyScan does not hand you one of these as a single number. You get a range, like 14% – 16%.
Weight and body fat are not the same
You can weigh the same and look different if you gain muscle and lose fat. The scale does not tell that story alone. A front photo, taken the same way each time, helps you see the waist.
Pace
Above 20%, change shows sooner. Under 12%, each point costs more. You do not need to eat almost nothing. If your squat and press die, the cut is too hard.
If you are under 18, do not use these adult targets. If food starts to feel dark, talk to a doctor. An app does not replace that.
What BodyScan does
You upload a photo of yourself. You see a free range after you leave your email. After that you can get the full plan with weak points, a timeline, training, calories, protein, and 4 weeks.
It is a visual estimate, not medical advice.
