How to take a body-fat photo
Light, pose and framing so your photo nails it.
Your result comes from the photo. Get it right and it nails it. Five rules.
Light
Use daylight, from the front or a soft side. Skip a lamp right above your head. That lamp paints odd shadows on your stomach.
No filter. No beauty mode. Do not edit the waist.
Pose
Face the camera. Arms relaxed, a little away from your sides. Do not brace your abs. Do not puff your chest.
Hold the phone at chest height. Too low makes your legs huge and your stomach look worse. Too high does the opposite.
Crop and clothes
Head to mid-thigh is enough. Full body is fine too. Shirtless or fitted clothes. A baggy hoodie does not help.
One person only. If a friend is in the frame, the tool should refuse the photo.
What makes the range worse
Dim light, a weird mirror pose, a post-workout pump, or a crop that hides the waist. A pump makes you look fuller and a bit leaner. Wait an hour if you can.
BodyScan rules
You must be 18 or older. The photo must be you. BodyScan doesn't store the photo. It is sent to the AI only for the check.
The result is a 2-point range, not a magic number.
